Supporters of St. Ambrose of Woodbury Catholic School turned out for the annual gala fundraiser to support the Bishop Pates Endowment, which provides tuition assistance for families of students at the school.

 

This year marks the 38th annual Woodbury Days event, three days of community fun to commemorate the end of another Minnesota summer. The Woodbury Days council is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a nine-member board and 20 to 25 volunteers who plan the yearly experience.

As a child, memories of playing ball with mom and dad can be some of the simplest and most joyful. What Woodbury resident Frank White didn’t realize, however, was that when he played catch with his dad, Lou “Pud” White, he was playing with one of the greats.

 

When Jim Gay started volunteering for the Woodbury Country Mile in the 1980s, participants ran the races entirely along rural roads. “At that time, anywhere you tried to run [in Woodbury] was in the country anyway,” he says.

 

In 2005, Dana Millington of Woodbury founded the Madison Claire Foundation in memory of her daughter Madison, who died after a two-year battle with spinal muscular atrophy.

 

With a year of leadership under his belt, East Ridge High School Principal Jim Smokrovich is looking forward to another great school year.

 

Studies have shown that an introduction to music education during early childhood can boost social, cognitive and mental abilities throughout a child’s developmental years. Lucky for members of the Woodbury community, we have two wonderful music studios right in our own backyard.

 

Local resident Andrea Gribble is the founder of #SocialSchool4EDU, a social media consultancy that partners with and serves schools, students, parents and the local community. As an advocate and speaker, Gribble often talks to students about being safe and kind online.

 

“Everbrook Academy is a 21st century preschool that’s designed to prepare today’s young learners for the world of tomorrow, ensuring they’re ready for school and ready for life,” says Erika Riesinger, principal of Everbrook Academy, which is set to open later this month in Woodbury.

 

The St. Paul Farmers Market has been bringing the freshest products to the metro area for more than 150 years. At the Woodbury location, shoppers will find locally grown produce and other items such as baked goods, honey, maple syrup, flowers and much more.
