Mandi Folks is a busy stay-at-home mom who has a good eye for photography. Over the past few years, her photos have won recognition in Woodbury Magazine’s Focus on Woodbury Photo Contest, including this one that was taken in her neighbor’s yard.

Jan and Karen Hunt have lived in Woodbury’s Evergreen neighborhood for more than 30 years. Known for dense and mature spruce, pine and tamarack trees, these homeowners transformed their once rustic lot into a manicured shade garden that continues to bring them joy.

 

When Woodbury resident Grant West came to the Twin Cities in 1966, it was the beginning of an adventure. Not only with the beginnings of the Walker West Music Academy in St. Paul, but with the evolution of his musical career. “I had a natural curiosity for music,” West says.

Longtime Woodbury business Salon Elite has a new home. “Over the last couple of years, our business has really grown,” owner Nikki Schmidt says. “We had outgrown our space. Our staff had grown, our client list had grown.”

 

Paul Montgomery got into sprinting in 1990 when his children were running track. “I took them to their track meets and I noticed that sometimes there were also adults participating,” Montgomery says. “So it was just an opportunity to run track with my children.”
