Bob McEnaney has logged many miles on the seat of his bike. He did his first triathlon after graduating from college in 1981, and hasn’t looked back. But this month, McEnaney will tackle the toughest endurance event of his career.

In 2008, Michael Lindahl kissed his wife and six kids goodbye and boarded a plane to Haiti. The Woodbury dentist was traveling to Titanyen, a rural hillside town about 25 minutes outside of Port-au-Prince, with his friend and fellow Bible study member, Jeff Gacek.

Graduation at Woodbury High School on June 1 will be a rite of passage for the class of 2014. It will also be a milestone for Scott Swansson, affectionately known as “Swanny,” who is retiring after 35 years of teaching and coaching.

Now in its 18th year, the Gala and Auction (set for April 5) is New Life Academy’s largest fundraising event.

Inspired by TOMS Shoes and its buy one/give one initiative, local resident Amy Schwartz  set out to give a gift of a different sort— a doll. Schwartz’s then five-year-old son wanted a comfort item to sleep with. She scoured local shops in search of a doll with a religious theme.

For the 10th year running, Woodbury is supporting the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics in fashionable flair. The Open Your Heart Gala features a cash bar, dinner, and silent and live auctions led by master emcee Eric Rislove.

Primrose School of Woodbury owner Tonya Holt’s son gets his hair cut at Salon Bambino. Her family lunches at Angelina’s Kitchen. She shops at A Whimsical Place and seeks home advice at Interior Impressions.
