While there is nothing like a gorgeous winter day in Minnesota, it’s this time of year when I find myself daydreaming of sunny spring days spent in the garden. Thankfully, that daydreaming also acts as a perfect time to accomplish spring planning.

Woodbury local Nikki Osho captured her daughter’s gleaming smile on August 3, 2021, as she climbed into the driver’s seat of the Woodbury firetruck. “It was a neighborhood get-together, and all of a sudden, a firetruck just pulled up and my 5-year-old daughter hopped in!” Osho says.

While on a walk on day 26 of her monthlong trek in the Amazon jungle with no running water, no electricity and bathing in the same swamp water as anacondas and crocodiles, Luciana (Anna) Verhoye Passeri, M.D., avoided a step that changed her life.

Blaise Pascal, a polymath of the 1600s, said even a genius needs beauty, noting, “In difficult times, carry something beautiful in your heart.”
