While there is nothing like a gorgeous winter day in Minnesota, it’s this time of year when I find myself daydreaming of sunny spring days spent in the garden. Thankfully, that daydreaming also acts as a perfect time to accomplish spring planning.

For Woodbury’s Irvine family, the Minnesota State Fair is a family tradition. “My husband Jim and I met on a blind date at the State Fair,” says Kathy Irvine with a laugh.
The Woodbury Lions Veterans Memorial Council broke ground in 2007 for what has since become a community treasure: the Woodbury Veterans Memorial. “It’s very important for our local folks to maintain a connection to their lost veterans.

This fall, nine years after the introduction of Spanish Immersion kindergarten in South Washington County Schools/District 833, the program’s first freshman class will enter Woodbury High School.
Jake Knupp East Ridge High School Jake Knupp knows that hard work pays off over time. It’s one of the many lessons he’s earned from basketball. “Ever since I started playing basketball, I work on my skills,” Knupp says.
Four years ago, Janet Campbell moved to Woodbury from Minnetonka to be near her two grandchildren and, of course, their parents. “I always have my camer,a and I take photos all the time, especially of my grandkids, Cassie and Joshua,” Campbell says.
Woodbury Community Theatre (WCF) is capturing Broadway’s classic production of Meredith Wilson’s musical The Music Man. “Though the WCT does several more contemporary productions each season, it’s always great to go back to the classics,” says Michelle Witte, WCT board vice president.
Since taking the helm of the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce six months ago, Barbara Tuccitto Warren has been out and about in our community, meeting with business leaders, government officials and local civic organizations.
Grab a lawn chair or blanket, and soak up the summer sun at Woodbury Lakes this month with the Summer Concert Series. Concerts take place in the courtyard between Jos. A Bank and American Eagle; no pets or alcoholic beverages are allowed.
