Mackenzie Harding is a busy stay-at-home mom with four children who also has a photography business. “I’ve been taking photos for fun for about eight years and started my business almost three years ago,” she says.

In the summer of 1979, it was nearly impossible to turn on the news or open a newspaper without seeing harrowing images of Vietnamese refugees fleeing the aftermath of the Vietnam War.

A hidden gem in Woodbury is the beautiful Carver Lake on Century Avenue just off Interstate 494. This 49-acre lake, surrounded by hills and woods, has a history of abundant northern pike; bluegill, crappie and largemouth bass can also be found in the waters.

Ken and Debbie Wanovich fell in love with Mexico over the course of many winter vacations. Ten years ago, they were married on Isla Mujeres, a small island just off the coast of Cancun.

A beautiful fall day and a cute corgi are the perfect combination for a great photo. “This photo was taken in my front yard, one of Tonka’s favorite places to hang out,” says Emma Schultze. “I had taken hundreds of photos of her, but this picture was the best by far.

Founded in 1967, Woodbury Lutheran is a church with deep roots in the community. It has been an integral part of Woodbury nearly as long as the city itself has been established.

Every year, Woodbury Magazine accepts photography submissions from the community for the annual Focus on Woodbury photo contest. The photos are submitted in five categories: Activities & Events; People & Families; Pets; Wildlife & Nature; and City Landmarks.

Soccer is a very popular youth sport in Woodbury, with hundreds of kids participating on fields throughout our city. This photo of 7-year-old Aleyna Woelfel captures the joy many kids experience playing sports.
