We are celebrating Woodbury's 50th birthday in our first issue of the new year!

Currently a student at the University of Northern Iowa majoring in digital media production, Chris Dummer has been taking photos since he was in photography classes at Woodbury High School.

Bielenberg Sports Center is home to many community recreational opportunities, with its 36 outdoor fields, the Jeff Hanson Miracle Field, indoor field house, ice arenas, splash pad and the Madison’s Place universally-accessible inclusive playground.

 

2017 is a big year for Woodbury. Big, in that it’s celebrating its 50th anniversary in March, and it has a whole year of festivities planned to mark the occasion.

Many factors can indicate a strong sense of community. At Hill-Murray School, it’s the fact that their new stadium, Mary, Queen of Victory, was built entirely from donations.

 

Woodbury has grown into a city with many options for fitness and wellness. Here are three unique offerings to check out in town.

The previous Therax Rehab recently joined national franchise Fyzical Therapy and Balance to offer more innovative and productive services.

 

Each year, South Washington County Schools holds the One-Act Play Festival, with the presentation of competitive one-act plays from East Ridge, Park and Woodbury high schools. Each group has a maximum of 35 minutes to perform, with an additional 10 minutes for setup and takedown.

 

The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, established by the U.S. Department of Education, is currently implemented in more than 23,000 schools in the U.S.

 

Our November ‘15 Minnesota Roller Girls story, “On the Fast Track,” earned the top gold award in feature design from the Minnesota Magazine and Publishing Association (MMPA).

 

For the past seven years, New Life Academy’s student-run nonprofit, Buy a Coffee, Buy a Well, has been undergoing philanthropic efforts for Living Waters International, an organization that builds and repairs wells in countries that don’t have access to clean water.

 

The University of Minnesota Health Pediatric Specialty Clinic has joined the city’s growing list of health care providers. With numerous pediatric specialty clinic locations on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus and a St.
